November 10th, 2017 | Posted by admin in Uncategorized

Some factors are set in stone when purchasing rain insurance like the date of your event, the location, and even the hours however most of our US Weather Insurance clients get stumped when we ask how much rain they want to insure against. US Weather Insurance will always offer options on the total amount of rainfall that will trigger a claim for your event however when filling out the application, it is up the client to decide what will work for the hours of the event and their budget. The smaller the amount of rainfall the more likely it will happen so obviously the price to insure a smaller amount of rainfall is more expensive that a larger amount.  Below is a breakdown on some of the more popular amount covered and how much rain will trigger a claim at these amounts:

Rainfall Amount Time frame of Rainfall
¼ (0.25) Inches Light Rain for 2-3 hours; Moderate Rain for 30-60 mins or Heavy Rain for 15 mins
½ (0.50) Inches Moderate Rain for 1-2 hours;Heavy Rain for 30-45 mins
¾ (0.75) Inches Heavy Rain for 2-4 hours
