How many days does your students have to make up for this year? When you think of it, weather has always been the main reason for school cancellations. Many countries and sub-national jurisdictions have mandates for a minimum number of school days in a year. If all snow days are exhausted, and inclement weather requires more closures, schools usually make the days up later in the year. Kids may not look forward to going to school longer than they need to, but they do look forward to playing sports and other after school activities.
For outdoor sports teams like soccer, lacrosse and baseball, they require school teams to come out from different regions. It’s important to make sure these events are covered so that all expenses are taken care of in case of a cancellation. Tournaments also take place all weekend and usually start early in the morning under late afternoon. It is recommended that coverage start early in the morning so cover any chance of the fields flooding and cancelling the event.
